Ergonomics

Ergonomics is the study of the relationship between workers and their environment.
For over 30 years Eden Office has been studying people and chairs, and manufacturing ergonomic seating for people in their workspaces. We understand that chairs should be made to suit people, not people to suit chairs, and we believe that everyone should be comfortable in their chair at work.

The introduction of our Spectrum chair in 1990 was the beginning of a new era in ergonomic chairs for New Zealand. At a point when the office world was seeing a rapid rise in individual computer use, we identified a market demand for product that allowed computer-users to sit comfortably and correctly supported all day. Spectrum offered comfort, support, adjustability, and customisation in a way that no other chair had. Its powerful lumbar support feature became a favourite with both users and health specifiers, and Spectrum quickly became a benchmark in ergonomic seating. It remains one of the most popular ergonomic chairs in the market.

The same values and principles that brought Spectrum to the market, are behind the building of each of our ergonomic task seating ranges.
